Welcome back, Longhorns! If you're looking for breakfast near UT Austin, Violette Bakehouse is here to make those early classes a little more bearable. From freshly baked French croissants and pain au chocolat to cinnamon rolls, muffins, quiche and coffee, we're just a short trip from the UT campus — because an 8 AM lecture is hard enough without doing it on an empty stomach.
The backpacks are back.
The sidewalks are busy.
The laptops are charged.
And somewhere near the UT campus, a student has already decided that an iced coffee counts as breakfast.
It does not.
Welcome back, Longhorns! 🤘
A new semester has officially begun at the University of Texas, which means it’s time for new classes, new professors, new roommates, new ambitions…and the annual tradition of promising yourself:
“This semester, I’m going to be SO organized.”
You bought the planner.
You color-coded the planner.
You downloaded three productivity apps.
It has been six days.
The planner is already missing.
That’s okay.
We can't help with calculus, organic chemistry, that 47-page reading you definitely meant to finish last night, or the existential crisis caused by Canvas notifications.
But we can help with breakfast.
An Ode to the Sleepy UT Student 🥐
Oh student of Texas, awake before nine,Your professor insists that you'll somehow be fine.
You stayed up too late.Your notes are a mess. You cannot rememberWhy you chose this address.
You stumble to class,Half human, half dream,Your stomach is empty,Your eyes slightly scream.
But wait! What's that smell?Could salvation be near?Is that butter? A croissant?Suddenly… life becomes clear.
For knowledge is power,And studying is wise,But everything's betterWith a pastry nearby.
Your 8 AM Class Deserves a Croissant
There are very few things we can say with absolute certainty.
One of them is this:
An 8 AM lecture feels significantly less offensive when you've had a croissant first.
Golden. Flaky. Buttery. Freshly baked.
A croissant will not make your professor cancel the quiz you forgot about.
But it will give you something nice to think about while taking it.
And sometimes that's enough.
If you're particularly hungry, there are cinnamon rolls, muffins, pain au chocolat, almond croissants, quiche and plenty of other ways to avoid beginning your academic day fueled exclusively by caffeine and optimism.
For the “Breakfast at 11:47 AM” Students
We see you too.
Perhaps you slept through your alarm.
Perhaps your first class isn't until noon.
Perhaps you've simply rejected society's arbitrary definition of “breakfast time.”
We respect this.
Breakfast is a state of mind.
Croissants do not judge.
And Then There Are the Study Treats…
Eventually, breakfast becomes lunch.
Lunch becomes “I deserve a little treat.”
And suddenly you're staring into a pastry case deciding whether today's emotional-support dessert should involve chocolate, vanilla, fruit, caramel or all of the above.
College requires difficult decisions.
We recommend practicing on pastries.
Low stakes. Delicious consequences.
The Official Violette Bakehouse Back-to-School Survival Formula
We have conducted absolutely no scientific research whatsoever, but our calculations are extremely convincing:
Student + Sleep + Breakfast + Croissant = Better Student
Conversely:
Student − Sleep − Breakfast + 8 AM Exam = 😵💫
We rest our case.
Whether you're heading to an early class, meeting a friend before campus, or desperately searching for a croissant after an all-nighter, Violette Bakehouse has you covered. Stop by for freshly baked French pastries, croissants, quiche, muffins, desserts and coffee — with free parking, too.
Consider it your pre-class reward. Or post-class reward. Or “I attended class today and therefore deserve pastry” reward. We don't judge. 🥐
